Carl takes on many roles to drive and make things happen, where he acts as an instigator or catalyst, for projects and initiatives such as Dance Makers Collective and Flatline.

Carl Sciberras has not only Palomares moving sinuously to another live music performance in Mobius, but also visual artist Todd Fuller on stage with a tablet, creating designs that wind through the action and play a subtle role in the impact of the piece. Very cool. And a sign of the future, perhaps.

During the five years I've known Carl, I have witnessed him hone his leadership skills in a variety of roles such as Marketing Coordinator, Program Manager and Education Officer as well as co-founder and producer of two artistic collectives. What sets Carl apart from many of his peers is that he does not only seek to contribute to the arts in Australia as a maker, he also works tirelessly to create opportunities for others in an effective, meaningful and sustainable way.

Carl demonstrates initiative and entrepreneurial skills in tandem with developing his own (and others’) dance practice. This is a rare talent.
